Well, it is that time again when we move our clocks forward for an hour. We lose an hour of sleep and look forward to when springtime will arrive. For me, I cannot wait to see the flowers bloom and feel the warm spring air. However, it may be some time since there is a pending storm in our area. Since this is also the time to do some safety checks in your house, I want to remind you of some important things to take a look at.
Change the batteries in both your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarms.
After inserting fresh batteries in your alarms, make sure the alarms working by activating the safety test button.
Make sure you have a properly functioning alarm in every sleeping room and the hallway directly adjacent to those rooms.
Check Your Flashlights
Make sure your emergency flashlights work when you need them.
Install Fire Extinguishers
Install at least one fire extinguisher in or near your kitchen and know how to use it.
